Are you thinking?

Are you thinking about your 2009 professional and personal plans yet?
You definitely should be.
Try this 15 minute exercise below to create clarity and focus around your planning for the approaching year.
The reason I love this elimination exercise is because when we eliminate what isn’t working, we naturally make mental and physical space for more opportunities in our lives.
What 5 tasks can I eliminate that aren’t producing a high-ROI for me?
And don’t just measure ROI for your business. Measure ROI on your time and money in your personal life too.
Since the creation of the Internet—our work and personal lives are now completely overlapped. This has been wonderful in many ways. Especially if you are a mom like me, it has allowed me to spend more time over the years with my children.
However, YOU do have to watch for burnout and periodically make sure you are balanced regarding your mind (getting enough quiet time), your body (getting enough exercise), and soul (getting and giving yourself enough love).

Thanks for the reminder Sheri - it’s easy to get consumed in the day-to-day. I have just now eliminated 2 things that do not serve me well from an ROI standpoint. I have replaced those with more free time to enjoy my husband and my family.

What a great perspective - projecting forward to ‘09 - thus giving more definition to specifics we engage in today to poise us where & how we want to show up in ‘09. Pulling out weeds from a garden allows more to go to desired plants; light, nutrition, space, etc. Task elimination is the weeding process from our lives, resulting in more energy flow to areas we want to nurture. Thanks for the reminder Sheri!
