A Killer Job Interview Technique

Part 3: The Job Interview Closing Statement
When and how do you transition into your closing statement? The time to present your closing statement is towards the end of the meeting. Most interviewers will wrap up by asking if you have any questions or if you have anything else you’d like to add. Ask your questions first. Then, transition into your closing statement.
Introduce your statement by saying, for example:
“In closing, I’d like to share with you the top five reasons I am a great fit for this position.”
To help you prepare, I suggest you develop a one-page document with your closing statement talking points. Writing this document will help you process and familiarize yourself with the information. You can then practice it out loud to smooth out your delivery.
In the next edition of my blog, which will be published next Monday, I’ll share more specific tips on how to develop your closing statement.
