The Bad News Is…
…there’s a whole lot we can’t control right now. The good news is, there’s still some stuff we can.
When I had my “financial awakening” 12 years ago, the good news of losing everything was that it forced me into some habits that sustain me to this day – in good times and bad. I thought I’d share a few of those, in hopes they’ll help you during these uncertain times.
Everywhere we turn these days, we’re greeted with the latest reminder of how dire things are economically. In fact, I’m so certain you’ve been sufficiently inundated with this information that I won’t add my two cents on it.
What I do want to focus on is putting some fun into this dysfunctional time; encouraging you to keep your spirits up and continue your self-care, even when resources are limited.
I was originally going to title this “Out of Service,” which described how I’d been feeling of late, but changed my mind once I, well, changed my mind.
It’s been a tough few months. Grave family illnesses, some economic uncertainties, too much to do, too little time. With more stress on my head than I’d felt in a long time, I started to lose perspective, and frankly, ended up being more than a little self-indulgent as a result.

It’s only been seven months since we launched the live version of the Let’sTalk MONEY Game, and I’ve already learned a ton about what makes some people open up about money and get to a new and better place with it, and what keeps others stuck in their old habits.
Let’s talk about what doesn’t work: seeing yourself as deficient, and not in an “I don’t understand the concept of abundance” kind of way. I mean having little to no confidence in your ability to make predictably positive choices with money, or seeing yourself as “One who can’t….”
