What is your purpose?
For this question, I want you to get outside of yourself and your immediate surroundings and think REALLY BIG. If you were to spend your days advocating for others, who would you advocate for?
Are you thinking about your 2009 professional and personal plans yet?
You definitely should be.
Try this 15 minute exercise below to create clarity and focus around your planning for the approaching year.
The reason I love this elimination exercise is because when we eliminate what isn’t working, we naturally make mental and physical space for more opportunities in our lives.
Just F O C U S.
When we just focus, we are happier and more productive. AND we are even able to decide what we should do in the first place!
This week, I want you to:
Embrace Marketing
In a recent conversation with a team member, we were discussing that “true business success” is really just a result of a two things: a powerful business model and your mindsets around marketing.
That’s it.
Tip One–Honor Your Urges
One of the main reasons I left the corporate world and took the entrepreneurial plunge many years ago was so I could do more of what I enjoyed and less of what I hated. It makes sense doesn’t it? Yet, you would be surprised how many entrepreneurs don’t do more of what they love. Make sure you take advantage of the freedom you have by setting boundaries early on in your business.
From Business Plan to Vision Plan—If the thought of doing a business plan makes you cringe—do a “vision plan” instead. Essentially, at a very basic level, that is what a business plan is.
Intuitively, I find entrepreneurs do these types of plans in their head all the time. Most just need to start getting it on paper so they can use this “living, breathing” document to run their company.
PAIN is GOOD—Did I get your attention? Pain is indeed good for many things. Pain lets you know when a more serious illness is approaching… emotional pain can help you learn and grow from an experience if you let it do its job instead of fight it. AND of course, the pain you experience as a business owner is also productive too—if you let the pain do its job.
Practice Focusing on the BIG PICTURE
A successful business has a lot of moving parts. It often is very messy on the inside as the moving parts sometimes collide. This is just how it is to run a business of any kind. When running a membership-based business it is CRUCIAL that you learn to LET GO SO YOU CAN GROW. You are the CEO and are there to see the big picture.
Educate Others On Their Win—One of the most important things I have learned with my online companies the last seven years is how to have “partnership” conversations for long-term growth.
